semester 1 review for e-comm

For e-comm video strained we are done with the class for the semester. Were doing a reflection on our first semester and how it all turned out and for me my semester went by really really fast, we did a lot of stuff in a short amount of time.

My favorite project I did was the Caleb Brandes acting story, it was by far my best video I made of the year and it was my favorite one to film too.

The whole thing lasted for about 2 to 3 weeks i would film him during school hours (when we were supposed to be in class), I also got his girlfriend at the time to film an interview with her about caleb

Some of the challenges we faced were of course leaving class to film, we didn't exactly get permission to leave class and we would often get sent back to class, and since I borrowed him so much all of the teachers got to know me and wouldn't let me film with him.

Along the way I learned about ambition and what filmmakers go through to film something, I learned more about film and editing along the way too

My overall opinion about my projects is that I tried my best at what I was given, I'm not really into convergence which is news and interviews and stuff, but I think I did the best with what I had at the time

My class time in class was used relatively good, I use it to work on projects and get my head focused on what is to come for later, I usually listen to music while I'm in class too

What I loved most about this semester was the filming part, I love to film and edit videos, and this class gave me the opportunity to fill my need for it.

What I would change is I would have more time to work on projects and videos and have more control over what we can film

I really want to  direct or write the short film for sophomores next semester. my final thoughts are that I really love e-comm and the teachers are amazing, I would never leave

FEATURE STORY #3

When i was making the feature story #3, i set out to make a fun video that would be fun to watch and to laugh at, so i used my friend caleb branded who is one of my friends, he wanted to make a fun video too. When making it i realized it more of a comedy video than a serious video, so i used that to my advantage, when editing it and narrating it i used funny terms and edits, i didnt want to take myself or the video too seriously so i made it a joke, but a good joke, i put effort into it to make it into a joke interview. I interviewed caleb broadens because he is my good friend and he shares my enthusiastic approach to film, we share the same ideas and he wanted to make the same kind of video i wanted to make, we decided to make it about hi acting career since he has been acting for about 2 years i wanted to know what made him join acting. but i needed more than one person to interview so i asked caleb girlfriend paige slater who also does theater and acting. my experience filming was fun and probably one of the funnest i filmed, since me and caleb are good friends we joked around an goofed off but we also took it seriously and filmed. editing was fun, i did it in abut a day when i was on my bed talking caleb on the phone. My class never got to watch the video so i haven't received any feedback yet.

what makes a good feature video? is it the story of the video, or the characters that are being interviewed? or is it a more personal idea that makes a story great. first we need to see what a great story looks like, and to me its one that grabs the audience in and makes them want to watch the story till the end, no matter the subject or the pacing, if you want to watch to the end its a great story. second the people who are being interviewed. there just people right? there something about them that makes us wonder why they are being interviewed, is it there perusal interests or is it more? sometimes a persons story is enough to capture other peoples interest, because on the inside we all want to be that person on some form or another.
in comm this week we made a future story, it had to be 60-90 seconds and a beginning middle and end, i chose to do it on my friend caleb, who acts in school plays and ren festival.

filming lasted multiple days and i interviewed caleb and his girlfriend paige all of those days, it was set in school and shot in school

if you want to see the video click this link and it will direct you towards the video.

well i don't have the link yet but as soon as i do ill put it on here

all in all the video was good and I'm ready for my next feature tory

In animation class, I had to write, create and post a 30 second animation, with a coherent beginning middle, and end. it had to have a conflict and 3 scene changes. it took me 3 weeks to animate and write a story, in the time i made a character called the rice crispy man, I took inspiration from a rice crispy I
 ate earlier.

when i wrote the story imagined, the trashcan is the symbol of the good in society. He wants to throw the trash away, but the opposing forces would not let him.

POLY THING

in animation this week we made a Polything, yes thats what it's called I'm not joking, you make it by making a sphere, then you make 3 cylinders each on the sides, then you hit mesh then boolean then difference, it erases the object then makes a cool figure.

isn't it rad!
